InJourney Group Responds Quickly to Disasters, Distributes Aid to Communities Affected by the Earthquake in NTT

Amid the disasters that have struck several areas in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), InJourney Group has moved quickly to collect and distribute aid to meet the needs of affected communities. As a state-owned enterprise holding company in the national aviation and tourism ecosystem, InJourney Group ensures immediate on-the-ground support through mobilizing resources from all entities and coordinating with the state-owned enterprise ecosystem.

This swift action was carried out by adjusting aid based on an assessment of needs on the ground, ensuring that support was not only swift but also targeted. Aid was distributed in stages, focusing on four primary needs: food and drinking water, health care, emergency response logistics, and the needs of vulnerable groups.
InJourney's Director of Human Resources and Digital, Herdy Harman, said that speed of response is crucial in ensuring that affected communities can receive immediate support, especially during emergency response periods.

"We carried this spirit of providing benefits when our brothers and sisters in NTT faced disaster. As soon as needs were identified on the ground, we immediately mobilized InJourney Group resources to provide support. Aid was distributed in stages and tailored to the conditions on the ground, ranging from food and drinking water needs, healthcare needs, emergency logistics needs, to the needs of vulnerable groups," said Herdy.

Based on the results of the field assessment, the aid that has begun to be mobilized and distributed includes 7.950 kilograms of rice, 69.740 liters of drinking water, 378 boxes of instant noodles, 96 boxes of UHT milk, and other staple foods, as well as various other food needs such as sugar, cooking oil, sardines, biscuits, cereals, coffee, and tea.

Support for vulnerable groups includes 865 packages of baby diapers, 80 packages of baby food, and hygiene kits containing 1.300 toiletries. On the health side, assistance includes medicines and basic health supplies, including paracetamol, digestive medication, vitamins, stomach medication, antiseptic, NaCl, balm, eucalyptus oil, gauze, and medication storage equipment. To support temporary housing needs, InJourney Group also distributed 10 tarps, 10 mattresses, 50 pillows, and 263 blankets.

One aid distribution point is in Leda Hamlet, Pangga Village, Kolang, to support 23 families whose homes were severely damaged and are currently sheltering in tents. Additionally, aid distribution was carried out in Golo Mori Village to 12 affected residents. Aid at these locations is prioritized to meet staple food and basic logistical needs during the emergency response period.

Aid distribution was also carried out through InJourney Airports, El Tari Airport Branch Office (KOE), in collaboration with volunteers from Port Maumere. This was supported by free distribution via sea routes in collaboration with PELNI from Kupang Port to Maumere Port. In addition to sea routes, aid was also sent through Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport (UPG) in Makassar to expedite logistics mobilization to affected areas in NTT.

Fast Action through InJourney Group Mutual Cooperation

Aid distribution was coordinated through ITDC, the PIC of InJourney Group in NTT, which has assets and operational activities in the region. InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) coordinated with the BUMN Peduli Task Force in NTT through BRI and the Labuan Bajo Disaster Post to ensure aid reached those in need.

As part of this rapid response, ITDC has also conducted surveys at several affected locations around Ring 1 Golomori, West Manggarai, to directly assess the conditions and needs of the community on the ground. This assessment serves as the basis for determining aid priorities and preventing inappropriate distribution.

"We don't want aid to be distributed in silos. Therefore, from the beginning, we have prioritized coordination and mutual cooperation. InJourney Group mobilizes all entities, while distribution on the ground is coordinated with ITDC and the SOE ecosystem. By working together, we can respond more quickly while ensuring that aid reaches the right targets and avoids overlapping," said ITDC Operations Director Troy Warokka.

In addition to mobilizing internal resources, InJourney Group also wants to spark public awareness and encourage them to work together to help communities affected by disasters.

During the folk arts performance commemorating the 81st anniversary of Indonesian Independence at Sarinah on August 17, 2026, InJourney Group opened a donation fund for earthquake-affected communities in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) through collaboration and synergy between state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and BRI. The collected donations will then be distributed to the affected communities in NTT.

"Through today's agenda, we also want to invite and spark public concern to show solidarity. Not only for our brothers and sisters in NTT, but also for the affected communities in NTT, through prayers, support, and assistance according to our respective capabilities. Any support, no matter how small, when done together can be of significant benefit to those facing disaster," Herdy continued.

For InJourney Group, swift action and mutual cooperation are the true embodiment of the spirit of independence. When communities need assistance, all elements of InJourney Group and the state-owned enterprise ecosystem work together to provide swift, precise, and tailored support on the ground. InJourney Group will continue to coordinate with relevant parties to ensure support reaches affected communities and supports the gradual recovery process.
